LR4: Yarn Bomb Prep Complete

I finished prepping the sections tonight anKruzel System Completed was itching to get started, so I couldn’t resist a practice run. It’s not much, but I used one of the pieces sent to me by Yancey in ‘Bama to cover the post of the Cold Spring Trailhead sign. No one goes out there at 10 o’clock at night, so you can imagine my surprise when as soon as the yarn touched the post, a fire inspector truck creeped by and as we were taking these pictures, a police car flew by, followed closely behind by an ambulance. Can’t wait til Friday!

  1. FYI- June 9-17 is WWKIPD- World Wide Knit In Public Day (week). Sure you can incorporate that somehow. Gather during the week to knit around the tree before you take the bomb down?????

    • I used the cheapest yarn I could find because I needed a lot of it. If you click on lr4 under learning resolutions and start reading from the bottom up (shortcoming of blogs), it will take you through the whole project from start to finish. Best way to start is by measuring out your target. Break it down into sections as simply shaped as possible. Then knit, making the pieces just slightly larger than your measurements because you can always overlap. If i had it to do over again, I would do the entire thing in one color or a designed pattern. Patchwork makes it easier to collaborate with those who arent there with you though.
